MATTEL RECALLS POLLY POCKET PLAY SET

 As reported on Good Morning America, the Consumer Product Safety Commission has received approximately 170 reports of small magnets falling out from dolls and accessories in Polly Pocket play sets. Three children have been seriously injured when they swallowed more than one magnet and suffered intestinal perforation that required surgery. If you own any of these products, please immediately remove them from use and place it in an area that your children cannot access. It would also be advisable to inspect the toys to see if any magnets are missing and thoroughly inspect and clean your flooring throughout your home for magnets. If ingested, these magnets can cause serious injury and/or death to children.

The Polly Pocket playsets contain plastic dolls and accessories featuring small magnets. The magnets are embedded in the hands and feet of the dolls, plastic clothing, hair pieces and other accessories that attach to the dolls. The tiny magnets can fall out and be swallowed or inhaled by children. If more than one magnet is swallowed, they can attach to each other and cause intestinal perforation, infection or blockage, which can be fatal.

The recalled Polly Pocket brand sets currently include: Polly Place Hangin' Out House, Polly Place Treetop Clubhouse, Spa Day, Quik-Clik Boutique, Quik-Clik City Pretty Playset, Quik-Clik Sporty Style Playset and Totally Zen Playset, and The Polly Place Totally Tiki Diner set.
